This superbly modest and charming Ford Fiesta Ghia is presented in simply amazing condition. The paintwork finished in Ford BLUE METALLIC is truly superb with a brilliant uniform finish and bright shine. All original panels are straight with linear gaps and the car is preserved completely free from rust or corrosion. Virtually no imperfections are visible with just a few minor marks. The correct body coloured inner wheel arches remain exactly as Ford intended.
The unmolested appeal of this special vehicle is accentuated by standard trim sections, bumpers and wide body-side mouldings, correct and in immaculate order. A clean engine bay and boot floor display factory stickers and plates to gratify the avid enthusiast. This is a truly exceptional example of one of Ford’s best sellers, now seldom seen.
INTERIOR
The interior of this remarkable example is in spotless original condition and exactly as Ford intended. The interior is beautifully clean and the common vulnerable areas for wear such as the seat bases and bolsters are undamaged. The colour-keyed velour carpet is truly immaculate and free from wear and the perforated neutral tone headlining is flawless.
All switchgear is functional and intact, and the perfect minimalist dashboard with small binnacle creates a surprising feeling of spaciousness. The original sterio/radio/cassette in full working order remains fitted. The hugely difficult to source trimmed parcel shelf is intact, straight and complete with the correct rubber hangers. Harking back to a far simpler motoring era with a distinct lack of all but the essentials, this little Fiesta is delightful as it is nostalgic.
ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The time proven transverse mounted 1117cc OHV engine with single-venturi carburettor develops a spirited 50bhp at 5000rpm and 83Nm of torque at 2700rpm. In such a lightweight and nimble car, performance, while not exhilarating is certainly fun, and the unmistakable exhaust note is delightful! The standard specification manual choke and electronic ignition are both present and correct, and operate perfectly. The four speed synchromesh gearbox is light and exact. Simplistic motoring with huge entertainment factor!
WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The 13” X 5” steel wheels are in pristine order and feature the correct silver ‘GHIA’ specification wheel trims. The 135/80 R13 tyres have excellent tread remaining. Dual line servo assisted brakes with ventilated 9.4” front discs and 7.0” rear drums bring the car up to a steady, straight and assured halt.
